Right after finishing his teaching as being a sitar artist during the mid-forties, Shankar joined the Indian Persons’s Theatre Association, a left-wing theatrical Corporation that promoted ideals of social and economic equality. He composed songs for that group’s productions and recomposed the popular patriotic music “Saare Jahan Se Accha”;
